Maybe
I can make something
that looks like a bed pan
if i spend enough time on it
I am conviced it will be ok
however I now fear that it
will look more like our new
tea pot without the spout
than the planned pot.
Nevermind

The Wine Tasting.
I took the glass tentatively, it’s foot in my hand,
Carefully avoiding, holding the wand
Shaped stem, but steadied the whole,
By holding the rim and not the bowl,
Of the crystal claret glass given the role.
Observing the wine for the first time,
For a ten second count to determine,
The visual properties of colour, clarity and depth,
Feeling the quality, hiding the breadth
Of my ignorance;
A rich, ruby red, tantalisingly deep, yet clear,
Which I’m assured is “Good for the Year”.
Proclaiming it safely “un jolie robe”,
It’s intrinsic qualities further to probe,
By swirling it gently, to give it more air,
In the footheld glass with an accomplished flair;
Sniffing sharply and shortly, two or three times,
Eyes closed to intensify the message to the mind,
And finally in concentration, taking a good sized sip,
Mouth- held and chewed, before the unaccustomed spit,
Allowing the wine soaked palate to savour the taste,
For greater appreciation. It isn’t a waste.
“Promising, interesting”, inoffensive to say,
For those like myself, feeling their way,
Not knowing who has passed the test,
Was it the wine ? or was it the guest ?

wow,I can cut and paste. j
